Welcome To TrailsRanger
A site dedicated to returning Excellence to the Guiding Industry
Thank you for taking the time to visit the site. As our motto states we are eager to return the guiding profession to the high standards that were set in the heydays of the Kruger National Park and Natal Parks Board. The days when guiding was a calling and not a fallback. Now more than ever, the industry needs to step up and take a hand in its own destiny. To once again set the standards and give aspirant guides something to aim for and be proud of.
Compromised standards and sub par abilities should not be the hallmark of the modern guide or PH. Nor should alcohol abuse and sloppy behaviour. No, to the contrary, the defenders of our Wild places should carry their heads high as members of the elite. Not drop outs and bums as is so often seen.
There are those among you who reading this may be angered by what you see, but I invite you to read the introduction written by Cleve Cheney. If after reading this you still believe you have reached your peak of competence and training, then you are among the few in the country who still hold themselves to the highest standard. For those who do not, I hope this will inspire you to reach higher and strive to do what I believe we all should be doing...
Raising the Standards by which we measure ourselves.
